Its official, Sykotik makes a repeat of their win as band of the year at Carifest 2011.  In the rain, revelers came out in their numbers to cross the stage at Shaw Millennium Park.  "Midnight Madness" took Advantage of the stage and Palanced their way to the Grand Prize.  Thanks to Youtubers "NataliaRamotar" and "Cacalady51" for the footage

If you are a Soca Fan then you really should have been at the Carifest afterparty at Theatre Lounge on Saturday Jun. 11th.  Doors opened at 9, Soca Legend, Crazy came on stage at 11 for a solid hour of hits to engage the crowd then handed the party duties to "Canada's best Soca DJ" Soca Sweetness who had the room absolutely electric right up until the lights came on well after 2am! Calgary Soca is a bit biased in doing a review on this one as some of our staff were involved in promoting the event, so we'll just have to let the footage and pics speak for themselves.  Check out the rest of the photos HERE . With at least two generations of Calgary Soca lovers in the party jammin all night, lets hope we can see an event like this one happen again soon.

To Wrap up this year's 30th anniversary for Carifest, the official party will be at The Theatre Junction Lounge 608 1St. SW Calgary on June 11th.  Performances by Soca Legend,  Edwin"Crazy"Ayoung with special guests.  Music by KOS DJ, "Soca Sweetness".  This night promises some absolute classic music live and of course the hottest music of today Carnivals!
