After a few years off the air, Drew returns to regular duties on Calgary's Community radio station CJSW 90.9 FM.  The "Socacentric" show will run every Wednesday from 6-7pm.  Thank you to everyone that suggested names for the newly created show. As of this Wednesday Aug 31st the show will be called the " Carnival Mix "and will, as you would expect, feature Soca, Calypso and Dancehall-Soca weekly. Soca King Machel Montano HD and Reggae favourite, Gyptian live.  We're still not sure of the number of tickets sold for this weekday show, but rest assured Calgary Soca has already taken Thursday off!  Call yuh boss, and we'll see you in Edmonton.

CJSW radio in Calgary will now bring Soca to the airwaves every Wednesday from 6-7pm . The show will be hosted by Calgary Soca's own Drew Atlas and feature everything from classic Soca hits to the latest "riddims" from your favourite artists. Click on the " Listen Now " tab on CalgarySoca.com and enjoy the show! Now a good show needs a strong name and here's your chance to help. We have a few ideas already but there is always room for more so leave your creative show name in the comment section below. Whether we use a suggested name or not, we'll pick a name from all the suggestions and giveaway a pair of tickets to the "End of Summer Soca fete" with DJ Soca Sweetness on August 27th. Last weekend's Cariwest Celebration in Edmonton was full of Calgary people both in the Parade and the Afterparty. True to form, both Calgary's T&T association and Sykotik mas brought out impressive costumes that took to the streets to show their colours. The highlight of the festival was of course Fay Ann Lyons performance at the Canadian Druze Centre later that evening. Thanks to Evan T Rutherford, I.V Entertainment and the Cariwest, the place was filled from early. The Soca was going strong right up until 3am with help from Vancouver's " Agent Mulda ", Canada's most requested Soca DJ " Soca Sweetness " and a bit of "Hype" on the mic from Calgary-Soca's own, Drew Atlas . The surprise of the day was the announcement that Bunji Garlin was going to join Fay Ann on Stage that night. Needless to say, the party was insane with the addition of the "Fire Man" as both Bunji and Fay Ann treated the crowd to hit after
